Love The Fenway is this Thursday, September 28, 6-9PM!

Volunteer

Fenway Cares is a collective of Fenway non-profit organizations that came together in March 2020 to help Fenway residents in need. We distribute nearly 400 bags every two weeks on Wednesdays in two locations; one in the East Fens and the West Fens.

Volunteer Expectations:
Volunteers will arrive between 1:45pm – 2:00PM. Volunteers help unload the food from trucks, pack each bag with PPE and flyers, then coordinate roles for distribution. We are grateful to the Northeastern University Office of City and Community Engagement for managing the bulk of our deliveries (out of the Fenway Community Center site for both locations).  At both distribution sites, volunteers will take roles from helping with those who are using walkers and wheelchairs to load bags, to those who are distributing from the table, and others who are replenishing from the reserves. We then all work together to pack up the boxes and tables at the end of the event. We need roughly 15 – 25 volunteers for each distribution.

This sign up form BELOW is for both the East and West Fens food distribution locations. Please indicate which site you would prefer to be placed. EAST is at Symphony Community Park at 39 Edgerly Road in the Fenway and WEST is at the Fenway Community Center. NOTE: Volunteers *may* be placed at either location based on need for the date(s) chosen.
